Gear Shifter – Jeep Chrysler Dodge Maserati Class Action

June 2016 – Merchant Law Group LLP has launched Canada-wide class action litigation regarding the same vehicle problem that last week killed actor Anton Yelchin.  The issue is that the vehicles in question have a dangerously defective gear shifter.

The vehicles affected by this class action include:

  • 2014 to 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • 2012 to 2014 Chrysler 300
  • 2012 to 2014 Dodge Charger
  • 2014 Maserati Quattroporte
  • 2014 Maserati Ghibli

“These companies knew about the defect,” commented Tony Merchant Q.C., “but deceived their customers by telling people who complained that theirs was an isolated incident. The death of Anton Yelchin is horrible but that publicity helped people affected all over Canada to know that what was happening to them was not their fault.”

Merchant Law Group LLP has ten offices across Canada, from Quebec to British Columbia. Merchant Law Group is well known for involvement in mass tort and class action cases in Canada, which include lawsuits involving Winners, Residential Schools, System Access Fees, Hollinger, Maple Leaf Foods, and many other cases on our website.
