CN and CPR Farmers Class Action
2009 - Merchant Law Group and its clients have commenced a national class action on behalf of all Western Canadian farmers whose grain was transported pursuant to the Western Grain Transportation Act and Canada Transportation Act from 1983 to present.
The class action lawsuit alleges that Western Canadian farmers have been overcharged by Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway for the amount of transportation costs levied against their grain, and seeks to have farmers reimbursed for the amounts they were overcharged.
