Fleet Phospho-soda Class Action

March 2009 - Merchant Law Group has launched class proceedings with respect to Fleet Phospho-soda, a product marketed in Canada since 1987 as a laxative for relief of occasional constipation or for use as part of a bowel cleaning regiment in preparation for surgery, x-ray or endoscopic procedures.

The lawsuit asserts that using Fleet Phospho-soda (Sodium Phosphates Oral Solution) often causes renal damage or renal failure, affect the function of the heart, kidneys, or other muscles, or may cause acute nephrocalcinosis, nephrotoxicity, formation of calcium deposits, change the level of calcium and electrolytes in the blood, cause electrolyte disturbances, cause calcium phosphate tubules, or other serious side effects or risks.

This class action seeks compensation from the product's manufacturer and distributors, C.B. Fleet Company, Johnson & Johnson, and Merck & Co., for consumers who have used Phospho-soda.

If you have used this laxative product for any reason, and you wish more information or to be kept advised of the status of this class action litigation or any resulting compensation program, please provide your contact information to our law firm using the below info form.
