Prexige Class Action
Merchant Law Group LLP is initiating class proceedings against
Novartis Pharmaceuticals, the makers of Prexige (also known as lumiracoxib.
Lumiracoxib belongs to the family of medications known as COX-2 inhibiting
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).)
Prexige was approved in Canada in November 2006 for use by adults. Health Canada
has ordered the anti-inflammatory drug Prexige off the market, citing the
potential for serious liver-related adverse events. Prexige is a medicine which
is used in dysmenorrhoea, osteoarthritis, and dental pain relief.
