Zonolite - Asbestos Insulation
Tony Merchant, Q.C, and the Merchant Law Group LLP are pursuing a number of class actions concerning Zonolite products, commonly used in Canadian homes and attics as a form of insulation.
These proposed class actions seek to hold both the Government of Canada and the makers of Zonolite responsible for:
past, current, or future health consequences for individuals and families who have been exposed to Zonolite in their homes, workplace, or other buildings (including the estates of deceased individuals who experienced Zonolite related health problems before their death).
compensation for both individuals and businesses who own homes or buildings infected with Zonolite insulation to compensate the expected loss in value of homes and buildings where Zonolite is present, and/or to compensate individuals and businesses for the cost of having Zonolite removed from the homes and buildings which they own (including commercial buildings and offices).
Merchant Law Group LLP has launched the lawsuits against the Federal Government and the makers of Zonolite in the Federal Court of Canada and a number of Provincial Superior Courts.
