EXTENDICARE AND NURSING HOMES CLASS ACTION

On March 10, 2021, Merchant Law Group LLP filed a class action in the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan on behalf of those who are living or previously lived in retirement or long-term care facilities owned, leased, operated, or managed by Extendicare.

This class action lawsuit has been filed against Extendicare in order to seek financial compensation for the same former Extendicare residents and their families.  Extendicare Inc. and Extendicare (Canada) Inc. are both defendants in the lawsuit.  A copy of the class action lawsuit may be viewed at https://www.scribd.com/document/498202439/Extendicare-Statement-of-Claim#fullscreen&from_embed

The Statement of Claim alleges that Extendicare was negligent in its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic,  and that Extendicare breached its contract with residents by failing to provide adequate care and safety. This class action also seeks financial compensation for any current or past Saskatchewan Extendicare residents who experienced inadequate care during COVID-19.
