Volkswagen Water Pump Class Action
January 2019 – Merchant Law Group LLP has launched Canada-wide class action litigation alleging defects in the water pumps of Volkswagen and Audi vehicles equipped with the 2.0L TSI / TFSI engine, for 2008 to 2014 model years.
This lawsuit asserts that the engines in these VW/Audi vehicles prematurely fail, as a result of defects in their water pump components. The water pump defects also subject these engines to coolant loss and engine overheating which risk catastrophic engine failure. The lawsuit seeks reimbursement, inter alia, of the cost of repair or replacement of the defective water pumps/engine components.
