Goldcorp Class Action

Merchant Law Group LLP has launched class action litigation in Canada on behalf of TSX common shareholder investors against Goldcorp, Inc. (“Goldcorp” or the “Company”) and certain of its officers.

This Canadian class action is on behalf of a proposed class consisting of all persons, corporations or other entities who purchased Goldcorp securities (G.TO) (TSE:G) between period from October 30, 2014 up to and including August 23, 2016, inclusive (the proposed “Class Period”).

This class action litigation will assert that throughout the Class Period, defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose, inter alia, that: (1) levels of the mineral selenium rose in one groundwater monitoring well near the Peñasquito Mine; (2) in October 2014, Goldcorp reported a rise in selenium levels in groundwater to the Mexican government after the contamination near the Peñasquito Mine waste facility materially intensified; (3) in August 2016, Goldcorp told Mexican regulators that contaminated water had also been found in other areas near the Peñasquito Mine; and (4) consequently, the company’s public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times.
