Eliquis (apixaban) is an anti-coagulant (blood thinner) jointly developed and commercialized by Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer, and approved for use in Canada. Eliquis is prescribed to treat or prevent conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, as well as atrial fibrillation and sometimes following certain surgeries to prevent strokes that can occur as a result of blood clots. Use of Eliquis allegedly causes uncontrollable bleeding and hemorrhaging that can cause serious injuries and death.
