Defective Transmissions in Chevy and Cadillac Vehicles: Canadian Class Action Regarding Both the Danger and Financial Hardship to Vehicle Owners and Lessees

Merchant Law Group LLP has launched Canada-wide class action litigation against General Motors (GM) on behalf of Canadians who currently own or lease (or have previously owned or leased) a Cadillac or Chevy vehicle with a Hydra-Matic 8L90 or 8L45 transmission. These owners and lessees may have experienced a terrifying jolt or shake while driving. Unfortunately, this issue isn’t just an inconvenience – it’s a sign of a serious defect in the transmission that can cause delays in acceleration and stopping, as well as other dangerous driving conditions.
Affected Cadillac or Chevy vehicles are:
- 2016-2023 Chevrolet Camaro
- 2015-2023 Chevrolet Colorado
- 2015-2019 Chevrolet Corvette
- 2017-2023 Chevrolet Express (2.8L diesel engine/4.3 gas engine only)
- 2015-2023 Chevrolet Silverado
- 2016-2023 Cadillac ATS-V, CT6, and CTS-V
- 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade
- 2015-2019 GMC Canyon
- 2017-2023 GMC Savana (2.8L diesel engine/4.3 gas engine only)
- 2015-2019 GMC Sierra
- 2015-2017 GMC Yukon Denali XL
The class action seeks compensation and repair for affected Chevy and Cadillac vehicle owners or lessees due to this alleged safety defect, regardless of whether you have experienced signs of this defect or not.
The class actions will seek financial compensation or benefits for affected Canadians who own or lease one of the defective vehicles in question.
