RE: PREVACID, NEXIUM, LOSEC, PANTOLOC, PANTO IV, TECTRA, DeXILANT, PARIET, or RABERPRAZOLE SOOTHE YOUR HEARTBURN OR gerd, ONLY TO RESULT IN KIDNEY DAMAGE?
In 2015, the Canadian Medical Association Journal published a study linking proton pump inhibitors to acute kidney injury. But there had been case reports of kidney injury occurring as early as 2004.
This proposed class action alleges that developers and manufacturers (including Apotex and AstraZeneca) knew their drugs could cause kidney and renal failure.
In fact, our lawsuit alleges that they actively concealed evidence of the dangers from the government and the public.
These serious side-effects can lead to lifelong complications and even death.
In 2017, proposed Canadian class actions were commenced in Saskatchewan and Ontario.
DECEMBER 2021 UPDATE: The class proceeding before the Ontario Court has not advanced and was dismissed and discontinued as of December 31, 2021. Please read this IMPORTANT NOTICE and COURT ORDER from the Ontario Superior Court for more information. This dismissal order has no effect on the class proceeding before the Saskatchewan Court, which is still being pursued.
