Yaz & Yasmin National Class Action

YAZ OR YASMIN-RELATED ARTERIAL THROMBOEMBOLISM, VENOUS THROMBOEMBOLISM, GALLBLADDER DISEASE

Merchant Law Group LLP is pursuing certified class action litigation against Bayer on behalf of Canadian women who, between December 10, 2004 and September 17, 2015, were prescribed and ingested the oral contraceptive pill Yasmin or Yaz AND were subsequently diagnosed as having had: arterial thromboembolism, venous thromboembolism, OR gallbladder disease.

The same class action litigation alleges that the so-called “fourth generation progestins” in Yasmin/Yaz pills interact with the ethinyl estradiol component. In addition, its progesterone (drospirenone) causes an increase of potassium levels.

This litigation remains ongoing in Canada.  Class Certification Orders have been made and matters of liability remain to be litigated before the Courts.

This class action litigation seeks financial compensation for Canadian women who, between December 10, 2004 and September 17, 2015, were prescribed and ingested the oral contraceptive pill Yasmin or Yaz in Canada AND were subsequently diagnosed as having had: arterial thromboembolism, venous thromboembolism, OR gallbladder disease.
