Propecia & Proscar Class Action
Merchant Law Group LLP is pursuing class action litigation against Merck Frosst Canada on behalf of Canadians who used Propecia or Proscar (generically known as finasteride) and suffered medical information. These medications, which are normally used to treat baldness and enlarged prostates, are alleged to cause various injuries, including an increased risk of a serious form of prostate cancer known as high-grade prostate cancer, male breast cancer, sexual dysfunction, and other health difficulties. A recent Health Canada warning has been issued.
Propecia and Proscar are normally prescribed as a cosmetic treatment for male pattern hair loss also known as androgenic alopecia. It is alleged that the drug manufacturers failed to adequately warn Canadians of the risks associated with the drugs and that the warning remains inadequate. The monograph product information has already been changed in several European countries to include an adverse reaction warning of persistent erectile dysfunction after discontinuation.
