BACKGROUND
Kevin Bejoy obtained his Juris Doctor through a Dual JD program at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Prior to law school, he earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from York University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Kevin has developed a broad, hands-on legal practice through experience in both Ontario and Alberta, working within full-service and litigation-focused firms. His legal experience spans personal injury, civil litigation, criminal law, family law, immigration, wills and estates, real estate, corporate law, and intellectual property.
As a Student-at-Law at Merchant Law Group in Calgary, Kevin worked closely with clients across multiple practice areas, conducting client intakes, managing ongoing files, drafting pleadings and affidavits, corresponding with insurers and opposing counsel, negotiating resolutions, and attending court at the King's Bench to advance matters efficiently. He has successfully assisted with criminal resolutions, uncontested Divorce matters, civil claims, immigration applications, and estate planning.
Kevin also articled in personal injury litigation at Barapp Law Firm in Toronto, where he argued motions before the Superior Court of Justice, drafted litigation materials including statements of claim, mediation briefs, and motion records, and supported senior counsel in hearings, mediations, and discoveries. His approach is detail-oriented, strategic, and client-focused, with a strong emphasis on clear communication and practical outcomes.
During law school, Kevin gained focused experience as an Intellectual Property Law Student Clinician through the USPTO clinic in Detroit, where he conducted patentability and prior-art research for inventors and managed active client files. He also worked in real estate and corporate law as a summer law student, assisting with commercial and residential transactions and corporate governance matters.
Kevin has demonstrated leadership and advocacy beyond practice. He was selected to present academic research at the Windsor Law Review Conference, served as a Student Law Society Council Representative, chaired outreach initiatives for Law Students Without Borders, and actively engaged in professional development through sports and entertainment law organizations.
