News: 2 injured in Calgary when altercation leads to car crash

CALGARY, AB – Two people were injured on Tuesday when an altercation at a house party in northeast Calgary culminated in a car slamming into several parked vehicles and then overturning.

Global News reports that the collision happened in the 300 block of Falton Drive NE at about 8:20 p.m. Police say that two men were in a verbal fight that escalated into physical violence. One of them threatened the other with some sort of weapon, at which point the unarmed man got into a vehicle in an attempt to leave the scene. The man with the weapon tried to stop him, causing the vehicle to crash into several parked cars and then roll onto its side.

Both men were injured, and were transported to nearby hospitals with unspecified injuries.
