News: Driver killed in collision with semi east of Calgary

ROCKY VIEW CO., AB – A motorist was killed in a collision with a semi truck on Highway 564 east of Calgary last Thursday, Global News reports.

An SUV collided with a tractor-trailer near the highway’s intersection with Range Road 273, shortly before 1 p.m. on March 25. While the circumstances of the collision are not clear, the driver of the SUV died at the scene. The truck’s driver was unhurt.

Photographs of the incident show the trailer on its side and the SUV at the bottom of a ditch by the side of the road.

Highway 564 was closed between Range Roads 273 and 274 while RCMP conducted an investigation.
