News: Driver killed in collision with train

REDCLIFF, AB – A collision between a train and a car killed the driver on Range Road 75 near Highway 1 in Cypress County Thursday afternoon, reports Canada Police Report.

Redcliff Royal Canadian Mounted Police responded to the accident around 1:30 p.m. According to authorities, the vehicle was driving north on Range Road 75 when it was struck by a train going west.

The unidentified 50-year-old driver died at the scene. Cypress County Fire Emergency Services, along with EMS, removed the 19-year-old female passenger. She was taken to a hospital with non-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger were both from Medicine Hat, AB.

The accident is being investigated by the RCMP Collision Analyst.
