News: Elderly passenger killed following collision in Chestermere

CHESTERMERE, AB – A two-vehicle collision in Chestermere on Friday resulted in the death of an elderly woman who was a passenger in one of the cars, Global News reports.

Emergency responders were on the scene of the accident at the intersection of Rainbow Road and Chestermere Boulevard by 1 p.m. on April 23. A pickup truck and a hatchback had collided under unspecified circumstances, resulting in the death of an unidentified 81-year-old woman who was a passenger in the hatchback.

The pickup’s driver was treated at the scene but not transported to the hospital.

Traffic was detoured around the area until 3 p.m. that afternoon.

An RCMP investigation is ongoing.
