News: Fatal Pedestrian accident off Edmonton Trail near Ave 2

CALGARY, AB- A 36 year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a driver suspected to have been driving while impaired on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m, Global News reports.

The driver of a mid-sized truck was traveling northbound on Edmonton Trail when they veered onto a sidewalk and continued to a grassed area before striking and killing a pedestrian who was standing in their path.

The driver then left the scene and traveled further before colliding with another vehicle and was unharmed.

They were arrested under suspicion of impaired driving before being released with a suspended provincial license.  Charges are expected to be laid.
