News: Firefighters battle blaze at commercial building in Chinatown

CALGARY, AB – A fire broke out at a two-story commercial building in the city’s Chinatown area on Saturday Night, Global News reports.

Units from the Calgary Fire Department were on the scene of the fire in the 200 block of Centre Street S by 9:40 p.m. Firefighters deployed an aerial ladder to reach the roof, and then peeled back elements of the roof to locate and extinguish the flames.

No one appears to have been hurt.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
