HEINSBURG, AB – A pilot was injured after crashing a Cessna near Hwy 640, according to Canada Police Report.

RCMP were dispatched to the area around 7:55 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of the crash. The Cessna’s pilot, a 65-year-old man, was trapped in the plane. Emergency crews rescued him from the wreckage and he was air lifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations reveal the crash occurred because the pilot hit a tree while landing.
