CALGARY, AB – A car accident on Shagnappi Trail ahead of Edgemont Boulevard brought northbound traffic to a standstill this afternoon, reports YYC Transportation.

The accident was reported at 3:43 p.m. on April 14. Traffic in the area could be seen backing up some distance, and several vehicles attempted u-turns across the grassy median to avoid the delays.

The roadway was eventually cleared by 5:03 p.m., although delays likely continued for some time.

The nature of the initial collision is unclear, and we do not know whether anyone was injured. We will update this blog should we learn more.
