News Update: More info released on fatal motorcycle accident on Hwy 1A

COCHRANE, AB – More information on the victims of a fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 1A Monday evening has been released to the public, as reported by the Calgary Herald.

The accident involved three motorcycles and happened between the towns of Cochrane and Canmore around 6:45 p.m. Two motorcyclists were heading west while another motorcyclist approached them from the east. One of the motorcyclists strayed into oncoming lanes and struck the eastbound motorcyclists. A third motorcyclist tried to avoid the collision but failed.

The two motorcyclists that collided died on the scene. They have been identified as a 32-year old male from Edmonton and a 21-year-old male from Cochrane. The injured motorcyclist is a 34-year-old woman from Lac des Arc. She was sent to Canmore General Hospital with minor injuries.
