North Phoenix crash involving school bus leaves one person dead

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was killed as the result of a three-vehicle head-on collision in North Phoenix on Wednesday, ABC 15 reports.

The accident was reported sometime before 9:30 a.m. along 19th Avenue, near the intersection with Cholla Street.

Police believe the unidentified male driver of a silver sedan crossed into the oncoming lanes for unknown reasons. His vehicle then crashed head-on with a tow truck and struck a school bus before the sedan came to rest on the side of the roadway.

The man in the at-fault vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash and died at the hospital a short time later. It is unclear if anyone else was hurt as a result. However, no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
