News Update: Police seek witnesses of crash that injured teen

CALGARY, AB – Police are asking the public for help reconstructing the circumstances behind a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian accident that seriously injured a 15-year-old girl Wednesday, the Calgary Herald reports.

This post provides additional information about the collision that we first reported on yesterday.

The incident took place at 90 Avenue S.W. and Bay Ridge Drive S.W. shortly after 7:30 p.m. on April 14. The teen was crossing 90 Ave in a designated crosswalk when she was hit by a westbound passenger vehicle, thought to be a 2006 Honda Pilot.

Emergency responders transported the seriously injured girl to a nearby hospital, where she is said to be in stable condition as of yesterday evening.

The driver, a woman in her 40s, remained on the scene and has cooperated with investigations. Intoxication is not believed to be a factor at this time.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch with them immediately.
